Gum disease is very common with four in every five adults suffering from periodontal disease (gum disease) in some form. It is caused by a build up of plaque around the teeth which on hardening into tartar, becomes an ideal breeding ground for bacteria. These bacteria act in a way that attacks the surrounding gums and causes inflammation and infection. We have a range of options available for the treatment of periodontal disease, from the initial stages of mild gingivitis, to the more extreme incidences of gum recession and tooth loss. From a simple tooth scaling and clean to a more extensive removal of infected gum and repositioning of the gum we can provide the help to deal with the problem in the best possible way.
